Wayne Brady's upcoming reality show, "Wayne Brady: The Family Remix," has given him a platform to show his true self to the world.

During the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Pasadena, California, on Wednesday, July 10, the 52-year-old actor shared how fans will get to see a different side of him in the new series.

When asked about sharing his daily life in front of the cameras, the host of "Let’s Make a Deal" revealed that he doesn't regret being vulnerable, even though he was battling "throes of depression" at the time.

I’m glad that we captured that on tape,” he said. “I was so deep in this darkness that the only way I felt I could show up was by feeling needed. I had to work.”

Brady explained that it was a strange feeling, but the series documented his “mental health journey” and showed how he realized he wasn't being his authentic self in the past.

Wayne Brady Opens Up About Depression

I can go on stage, be charming, make you laugh, and do my thing,” he said. “But I used to go home feeling like a piece of crap, even though I could make millions of people happy. I couldn’t keep doing that.

Brady talked about how his mental health has improved. Now, when he works on projects like "Let’s Make a Deal," he’s having more fun and feeling happier, which allows him to be present and enjoy his work.

I hope that every project I do from this point on is positively affected because I was able to be honest,” Brady said.
