Mindy Kaling has surprised everyone by announcing that she is now the mother of three children!
On her Instagram account, the actress disclosed that she gave birth to a baby girl named Anne in February. Mindy stated, “She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever asked for,” alongside some adorable pictures of her kids, Katherine “Kit,” 6; Spencer, 3, and a snapshot showing Mindy’s pregnant belly.
Amid hard times, Mindy Kaling spoke about how much happiness her kids bring into her life. She considers herself fortunate to be able to define motherhood according to what works for her and appreciated all well-wishers on their birthdays this year.
Fans were shocked but thrilled by the news, with one commenting, “The way you’ve shocked us three times with three different kids! CONGRATULATIONS!!!” Another added, “Wow! You are the master at controlling your socials! Congratulations.”
Mindy has kept her kids out of the spotlight and hasn’t revealed their father's identity. She first shared the news of Spencer’s birth on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, explaining she didn’t announce her pregnancy due to the pandemic and the world’s hardships at the time.
Despite being a single parent, Mindy has been open about the challenges of balancing work and childcare. In a 2021 interview with People, she mentioned the guilt many working moms feel and highlighted the essential role of childcare providers, especially during the pandemic.
Mindy credits her nanny and her dad for helping her manage her career and kids. “My dad comes over twice a day to take my son for walks and pick up my daughter from school. My village is small, but it’s mighty,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of support from other moms, stating, “I couldn’t do it without the advice and camaraderie of other women and moms.”
